Weddings can be stressful days, finding the right venue, making sure it is licenced, ensuring they are available for the date and time you want and that a registrar is available. BUT there is another alternative - did you know you can have a marriage celebration ceremony after your legal ceremony?
A Celebrant is an independent individual who is trained in providing you with a custom-made ceremony designed in a way which is personal to you, without legal obligation or government restriction. There are very few limitations as to what can be included in a celebrant wedding ceremony.
So ask yourself, do you want to:
Look at it is way; when a child is born, you legally register the birth, then hold a naming ceremony or christening. When someone dies, you legally register the death and then have a celebration of life or a funeral service. So for your wedding, why not get the legal bit done and hold an amazing wedding celebration ceremony after?
As an example, a registry office charges from £57 for Marriage and Civil Partnership certificate and £35 each for your notice of marriage. This is for the couple and two legal witnesses. It is a quick service which gives you the legal title of being married.
But by using this option, you then have the freedom to book a wedding celebration ceremony with all the creativity that you want. You can still say your vows, exchange your rings and bring in other elements and people. We can make this the day of your dreams in a setting that you have always wanted. There is literally no limit to your imagination on your day. Indoors or outdoors, daytime or evening, your ceremony the way you want it.
Perfect for:
Non-licenced wedding venues, woodlands & beaches, elopements or large weddings. Personalised ceremonies for creative couples, no templates, no restrictions.
Many people are still unsure about the role of a Celebrant, and how this differs to the role of a registrar.
A Registrar is a government official, responsible for keeping legal records. A wedding ceremony performed by a registrar must take place in a venue licensed for marriage, using specified contractual wording to legalise the union. Any religious or spiritual content is not allowed in a registrar wedding ceremony.
